The Tour of the Litchfield Hills returns for its Ninth Annual Charity Event on Sunday August 5th 2012.
For cyclists, the Tour offers non-competitive 12, 30, 50, 75, and 100 mile bike rides through the scenic Litchfield Hills of Connecticut for riders of all ability levels.
For walkers, the Tour offers 2.4, 4.2 and 8 mile walking routes through downtown Torrington Connecticut.
Thanks to all of our die-hard fans and riders, it was an epic day in the rain on Sunday! We were still able to raise through everyone's combined efforts almost $75,000, which will be given to our beneficiary. Just a big thanks from us to all of you participants who braved the elements to make the day a success. Here's looking forward to next year, August 5th, 2012.
The Mission of the Tour
The mission of the tour is to bring together community resources with the common goal of raising funds to support the care, treatment, education and prevention of cancer for residents living, working, or receiving treatment for cancer in Northwest Connecticut. By donating funds to The Center For Cancer Care Fund, Inc., we will have a positive effect locally, in the Northwest corner, as our friends and families battle the disease.
Thanks to tremendous community support and the participation of all the riders in the 2010 Tour, we managed to raise $89,000 for the Center for Cancer Care Fund. We thank all the participants who came out for the event last year and enjoyed the wonderful weather while helping those in the community who are battling cancer.
