Team Fundraising

Team Fundraising!

Fundraising with a team is a fun way to participate in the Tour of the Litchfield Hills and compete with other fundraising teams. The winning team is presented with the Champion’s Cup on the day of the Tour! Let’s see who can win this year!

Captains, Are You Ready?

1. Educate Yourself

Please learn about The Tour Of The Litchfield Hills event so you and your team can successfully solicit donations from your circle of friends, family, and contacts.

  • The Tour raises funds for the Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield Hills, Inc.
  • The Fund provides financial assistance to cancer patients receiving treatment in Northwest Connecticut.
  • The Fund provides help to patients in immediate need of financial assistance for transportation, therapies, medications, utility bills, and other emergent needs.
  • The Fund also helps make various services related to cancer care possible, including cancer prevention, education, and patient support activities.

2. Form a Team

Decide on a Team name and Team Captain, noting the specific spelling and capitalization of the name, then:

  • Invite friends, family, or coworkers to join your team.
  • Ask people you know and consider having your teammates contact others.
  • Get your workplace involved. Invite management to form or sponsor a team.

Being a Team Captain should be fun, rewarding, and straightforward. Thank you for joining us to support people living with cancer.

3. Register the Captain

It’s mandatory that at least the Captain of every team register at BikeReg.com. During registration, the Captain must select the option to “Create a Fundraising Team” using the previously decided-upon name. (See screenshot below.)

4. Get the rest of the Team Registered and/or involved

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TEAM MEMBERS CAN REGISTER

BEFORE THE EVENT

Online at BikeReg.com, where they can “Join a Fundraising Team,” noting again the option in the screenshot above.

Members attempting to join a team should use the specific text, spelling, and capitalization as previously decided upon.

Having registered online, soliciting donations via the PledgeReg.com website is easy.

DAY OF THE TOUR

Team members can use the button below to download and print out the Individual Registration form.

Team members will present this registration form at the registration tables on the morning of the Tour and inform the volunteers that they are members of a fundraising team.

5. Start soliciting and collecting donations

Online registrants have already gathered donations via the BikeReg/Pledge Reg mechanism. Still, as the Tour draws near, team members should also solicit and collect donations and present them on the morning of the Tour with the Tour Donation sheet.

Team members can use the button below to download a Tour Donation Form, regardless of how they registered.

Set income goals for individuals and your team. Each team member should try to raise a minimum of $100.00. Please note that EACH team member must submit a minimum of $50.00 to cover the registration fee.

6. Now, Have Some Fun!

Promote your team and message. This is optional but can help make your team’s efforts more meaningful and fun. Some ideas include:

  • create a team theme
  • order unique t-shirts or hats
  • decorate your bikes and helmets
  • dedicate your team to someone special

The Champion’s Cup will be presented to the team whose members have been most successful in raising funds.
